Genre and Sub genre task

What is a teen film?: A Teen Film is a genre of film which targets the teenage market.
Teen films focus on the lives of teenagers and explore the different challenges they face.
The audience  is usually teenagers and young adults, teenagers like to watch teen films because they can relate to the concepts in the film and young adults are usually attracted by nostalgia .

What are some common sub-genres that occur in teen films?:

Horror
Comedy
Action
Romance
Fantasy

Conventional Themes in Teen films

Common Locations -  School corridors, Bedrooms, House Party's and toilets.
Common Stereotypes - Jock, Bimbo, Nerd and Bully.
Common story lines - Awkward teenagers, The popular crowd, chasing dreams & star crossed Lovers

Here is an example of a teenage film with these genre and conventions this film is called teenage dirt bag. This film is an example of what teen films are usually about, it has the same conventions, stereotypes and settings that are most likely to be in a teen film.
