Audience task 2: Three Teen Movies with different audiences.

Teen Films are movies targeted at a teenage market. There are many different genres of teen films  such as horror, romance and action. Teenagers enjoy watching teen films because they look at different situations that teenagers commonly face, such as: Love, bullying, conflict, peer pressure, sexuality and violence.

Most popular teen films are
10 Things I hate About You
Clueless
Mean Girls
The Breakfast Club
Pretty In Pink
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Juno
Sixteen Candles

Most of these films are based on the story of two teenagers falling in love, or rebellion at school.

HARRY POTTER

About : Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by the British author J. K. Rowling. The series, named after the titular character, chronicle the adventures of a wizardHarry Potter, and his friends Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The main story arc concerns Harry's quest to overcome the Dark wizard Lord Voldemort, who aims to become immortal, conquer the wizarding world, subjugate non-magical people, and destroy all those who stand in his way, especially Harry Potter. 2001-2011

Target audience : Harry potter Has a huge target audience as this film has something for everyone, action, romance, comedy, mystery, fantasy ect,  alot of teenagers are interested in  the fantasy element of the film I'd say the target audience could be 11+

MEAN GIRLS

About: Raised in African bush county by her zoologist parents, Cady Heron thinks she knows about survival of the fittest. But the law of the jungle takes on a whole new meaning when the home-schooled 16 -year-old enters public high school for the first time and encounters psychological warfare and unwritten social rules that teenage girls face. Created in 2004

Target audience - Mean girls attracts a large female audience, from pre teens, teens and young adults, (13-24).  people can relate to the cattiness and fake friend ships in this story as it's something that most girls have either gone through or are going through.

THE KARATE KID
About:A handyman/martial arts master agrees to teach a bullied boy karate and shows him that there is more to  martial arts than fighting. - 1984- 2010 ( 5 versions and continuations)

Target audience - I'd say the target audience for this movie is both male and female teenage viewers , Females will be attracted to the 'eye candy' and men to the fighting whilst the boy's will be interested in the fighting and tough element. (12-17)
